This lens is unreal value. I have several other Canon L lenses that are $2000+ and this one is right up there. In fact I chose this over the Canon 70-200 mk ii (F2.8) after trying each for a week. I couldn’t tell the difference besides some VERY VERY slight vignetting in the corners (which was easily handled by lightroom presets) and besides, in some shots I preferred how it pulled me into the center. This is not a backup lens, this is a workhorse, go-to lens that you will want to ALWAYS keep on your camera.I recommend getting the Lowepro Toploader Pro 75 AW II Camera Case for your DSLR (full-frame) and your 70-200. They go perfectly together, and I can slip my monopod into the meshing on the side of the case and I am all set to go. I can even jam a 50mm lens in the case as well.
