I haven’t found anything yet that I dislike.

It’s a heavy lens, but not super heavy honestly. It feels right in my hands. The sharpness and bokeh of this lens are both off the charts. And so much character too. It’s also a useful lens for more than just portrait, especially on a body like the A7RIV where you can crop the sensor and all of a sudden you’ve got a 202mm lens with a 26mp photo.

This is my second try of buying this used. The first one is dead on arrival—I could not focus but this time, this works and I love this lens! I’m loving the ClickElectronics’s used but I found out it takes forever for them to give you a refund. I returned the lens that was dead on arrival weeks ago along with the Apple magic keyboard and yet I haven’t gotten the refund while I got the keyboard right away. I would put I star on the slowness of refund.

Sharpest lens I have ever owned! I was a Nikon shooter for the past 20+ years. In my opinion, the 70-200vr 2.8 was the sharpest lens I have ever shot a photo with. Now that I have switched systems, I still love that lens. Now to this; the Sony 135 GM 1.8. Again, in my opinion, This is the fastest focusing and sharpest lens I have owned. I love the aperture ring. It comes in very handy. The only downside to this lens is the PRICE! It’s expensive! However, you get what you pay for. If you can handle the price tag, GET IT!

Wow this lens is amazing. My only other prime is a canon 50 1.2L. This Sony 135 1.8 GM is my new favorite prime! It is so fast and the shots wide open are the sharpest I’ve seen! Absolutely love this lens.

This 135 GM is the best AF prime lens in my bag.It focuses extremely fast and quietly on my A9II, on which it balances well when paired with a battery grip.It has an excellent minimum focusing distance which increases its versatility.I often shoot events in low light settings, where my much more versatile 70-200 2.8 isn’t quite fast enough—that’s when I reach for this lens.

to put it shortly, this thing is truly amazing. the hype about the autofocus speed is all true; never would I have expected a lens in this focal range and of this aperture to be the fastest focusing lens I’ve ever used. Granted, I’m no well-versed pro, just a hobbyist with expensive taste, but damn its good. The rumors about sharpness and image quality are all true as well, as I’ve been hard-pressed to see even a hint of CA in any photo or a change in sharpness throughout the aperture range. overall it renders a great image and undoubtedly earns its GM badge. for comparision, I personally own the 70-200 2.8 GM as well, and although its defintely no slouch, its autofocus is a bit loud and the sharpness is honestly a little sub-par at the long end of the zoom range. Ive heard previous gripes from other owners, apparently the QC on that lens isn’t very good as some people get perfect copies. I’ve also seen complaints about other GM or Zeiss branded lenses, mainly the 85 1.4 and the 35 1.4 respectively, and I think since the days of those lenses Sony has really gotten their priorities straight. so far everyone has had nothing but praise for both this lens and the 24mm 1.4 GM, and I’m hopeful that Sony will keep it up, hopefully releasing version twos for the lenses that weren’t so GM as they should have been.

  8. Isabel W.

This is my new favorite lens, the autofocus is lightning fast and very sharp wide open, when I say sharp it’s even sharper than Sony 90mm 2.8 macro which known as the sharpest sony lens, very sexy lens too, it’s huge but not super heavy compare to sigma lenses, very nice bokeh, very quiet focus motors. Get it, you won’t be disappointed

  9. Sflan

Not cheap by any means but you do get what you paid for – super fast and precise AF, superb picture quality wide open.It is really a out of this world lens, worth every euro
