  1. Mr. G. Coad

Heavy, but love it. Picture quality is fabulous, and sharp! I do sometimes wish I had a few extra f-stops of light but I normally like to shoot between f4 and f11 anyway so all good. The image stabilisation works like a charm and the focus ring is super smooth which is great for video work.

Sigma is a solid brand and I bought this knowing that. Autofocus is fast and effective on my Canon M50’s (The C-MOS sensor seems to like it too). Picture quality is excellent. Fantastic zoom range. Used it at a friend’s wedding to film the event and caught everything I wanted to despite Covid-19 restrictions and the poor lighting in the room.

  3. Peter Carr

It’s solidly built and covers a very pleasing and practical focal range. If I only take one lens out this is the one. Having said that I own many other lenses that give me far more creative options than an f4 lens. It’s great that it has optical stabilisation though. It’s a bit soft between 70-105mm to be honest but having previously owned Canon’s 24-70mm f4 L series lens I think the sigma has better image quality, and you get that additional bit of length. The solid build means it is a bit heavy though.

  4. Mario Penas

Everything about this lens is incredible, at a fraction of the cost when compared to the canon equivalent. Picture quality is professional, bokeh is soft, build quality feels really nice. The only thing that is worse than the canon 24-105 L series is the autofocus. Not because this lens is bad, but because the canon is phenomenal. This lens is still incredibly good. This is the only time I side with an equivalent lens over the canon L series

  5. Ken Pandozzi

Soon after buying this lens, encouraged by all the positive reviews on the internet (including Tony Northrup’s that someone here mentioned), it became my primary one.I tend to carry my camera (Canon 6D Mark II) in a backpack almost all the time, when taking a walk, commuting, etc., as I never know when a nice photo opportunity might pop up. Not being a pro photographer, I wanted to have a single lens that I’d rarely need to replace. Of course, I take it off for specific reasons like macro photography or when I need a telephoto lens, but for most of the photos, this lens does its job remarkably well. Now I am able to just grab the camera and shoot in practically all everyday situations, without much hassle yet with great results, and I’m really happy to have bought this lens.

Bought this lens for my Canon 5D m2 and Sony A7 m2Took a while to work out a middle ground with so many lens options, but worth the choice.I’m not a serious photographer like wildlife, sports etc just a hobbyist really, but this lens so far is great for portraits or not being to close to my son 🙂 so I can capture moments without having lens right in people his face and capture more them small moments.Overall a Great all rounder with great focus and sharpness 🙂 and if your the kind of person wondering weather to go f/2 or f/4 go with the f/4 you can adjust your settings for the slight light loss and the advantage is you can buy some of the other great fixed lens which are out there 24, 50, and maybe a 85mm

I am a Canon camera user, and except for my Canon EF 75-300mm f4/5.6 MK III Non USM, purchase back in 2005, all my other lens are manufactured by Sigma.I have the 17-35mm f2.8-4 EX DG HSM, 24-70mm f2.8 EX DG Macro and the 70-200mm f 2.8 EX DG HSM Macro, and they all in my opinion produce quality images. The last time I purchased a lens was 9 years ago.I recently purchased a Canon 5D mark III and wanted a lens to compliment this camera.I thought of purchasing the Canon equivalent but with all the reviews, it became clear that the Canon was not up to the image quality of the Sigma. What really sold me was the YouTube’s Tony & Chelsea Northrup Sigma 24-105 f/4 Review vs Canon 24-105 f4.I have used this lens for a few weeks and the quality of the images when viewed in Photoshop is exceptional.Canon manufactures first class cameras, Sigma manufactures first class glass. You will not be disappointed in purchasing this lens.
