The headphones and charging case die within 5 days even if they were fully charged and not used in that time period. Something needs to be done because this is completely unacceptable. I’m always worried they’ll be dead when I want to use them and I wasn’t expecting to have to charge them every other day for peace of mind. The sound quality and build construction are top notch, but the battery issues are a major flaw and had I known this going in I would not have made this purchase.UPDATE: Changing to 1 star. After a few months of ownership I am experiencing stuttering and an inconsistent connection, and crackling at high frequency sounds. Sennheiser has accepted the headphones for return, but I have to pay to ship it to them!

Updated 4/4/19Hate to change this to 1 stars from 2. Got the 2nd unit and seems worse. Sound is still great IMO but I use it on a 30 minute train ride to work in the morning, put it back in the case and make sure that it disconnects from my Bluetooth on the phone. By the time I’m leaving for work, case is dead (no lights when pressing the button). Buds are still at 80-90% charged but when I put it back in the case, it will not disconnect with my Bluetooth unless I turn my Bluetooth off. This is due to the case being drained. Weird part is I charge the case for 15-20 min and it lights up green (fully charged). Just really buggy but not dependable for full day of use. I wish I decided to return sooner as now it is past that stage. I’ll contact Senn to see for a replacement but I’m sure I’d have to pay for shipping.Updated review 1/22/19:Used this again and as I pressed the button on the case, no light. I then played music on my phone while the earbuds were still in the case and can hear the music playing. Double checked to make sure buds are positioned correctly (i.e. magnetic connection) and checked my phone Bluetooth and buds showing as still connected. Same with the app.Hate that these sound great! Sending back to ClickElectronics for replacement hoping the unit I got was bad. IF this replacement has the same issues, I’ll stick with the Master and Dynamics MW07s even though they have much less features.Original Review:Background, I have the Jabra Elite 65T, Master and Dynamic MW07, and now this.I have to say with sound quality, this and the M&D MW07, blow all the competition. Main reason I don’t use the MW07s much is due to the other features the Senns have like transparent hearing. The touch controls needs some getting used to as I still prefer traditional buttons like the Jabras and MW07. The Senns also have a great EQ interface I really like. Here’s where other users may benefit for this battery tidbit as I wish I knew.I haven’t used (or kept it plugged into a charger) the Senns in 6 days and when I put it on, the battery for both buds were under 40% (left bud at 15%). I did charge them both fully prior to disconnecting 6 days ago. I also did notice that when I put them in the case, and they “clicked” magnetically showing proper storage, the Bluetooth on my iPhone showed that it was still connected. I played music and I can still hear it while it was in the case. Removed it and stopped playing.I called the tech support for Sennheiser and they told me this is an issue they are starting to hear about more and they have some possible solutions (before I even return for warranty or refund). The battery will go into “Trickle charge” to keep it topped off. What this means is that if full and not used (and unplugged) for 7 days, it will drain. I wish I knew this before my train ride as my battery died. Here are the tips I received from Sennheiser and hope it helps the other users/potential here. Wish there was a longer hibernation/standby life cycle.”When the Momentum True Wireless earbuds are placed into the case, they go into a low power stand by state, and the case provides a trickle charge to keep the battery topped off. This way, they will power on and connect quickly when removed from the case. Starting with a fully charged case and headphone, it should take 7 days of standby time for the case and earbuds to completely drain. If you start with full battery charge in the case and earbuds, and both go flat in 1-3 days, try the following-1- Clean the charging contacts on the earbuds and charging case with a pencil eraser2- Connect the charging case to a standard USB power supply (5V / >500mA)3- Start the Smart Control App and connect the Momentum True Wireless to the device4- Put the ear buds into the charging case ensuring proper orientation and solid contact. This disconnects the Smart Control App, and the app will switch to “re-connect” (search) mode. If this does not happen, you will want to send the unit in under warranty.5- Press the button on the charging case to switch on the charging LED. The LED will pulsate to indicate charging.6- Charge the case for at least 1.5 hours to ensure that they are fully charged. The Green LED will come on when fully charged.7- Remove the headphones from the case, and keeping them within 30 cm of each other, make sure the control app recognizes the headset.8- Remove the USB charge cable from the case, and put the headphones back into the case, confirming that the connection to the app ceases. We will now test the discharge rate.9- Leave the headphones undisturbed for 48 hours. After 48 hours, press the button on the case- it should light up green.10- Remove the headphones from the case, and press the button on the case. It should light up green.11- Check the earbud battery level in the Control app. Both should be at or above 80%. If they are below that, then you will want to send them in under warranty. The majority of Sennheiser products have a two year warranty from original date of purchase. “All in all, I will continue to monitor this great wireless buds as the sound it so great, and the shortcomings, I can hopefully live with.

Let me start with the positives. The way these sound, in my opinion, is simply amazing. Bass, mids, highs are are excellent; I’m not and audiophile so that’s all you’ll get from me.The way they look is great, and for practicality, I actually like how much they stick out of my ear, so that it’s obvious I’m wearing them, and I don’t look like I’m talking to myself when I’m in a call. The charging case is nice and compact, and stylish. I love the fact that the charging port on the case is USB C. Even the way the product was packaged is very nice. The negatives: these buds were NOT very comfortable, as a matter of fact they started actually becoming painful for me to wear after about 1/2 hour of wearing them.I would have also preferred if they had more options for the ear tips, like maybe comply foams. I’ve paid much less for buds that gave me more options for ear tips. The audio controls through touch fared more on the annoying side than on the useful side, to where I just used my phone to control the buds instead.Let me put emphasis on what I’m going to say next…for the price and the reputation of this brand, THE CALL QUALITY IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!Sennheiser, what happened here??? Why is it that this area seemed to have been an afterthought? If this feature (calls over BT) is available why not make it even better than just barely useable???The main reasons I had to end up returning this product was for the discomfort while wearing them, and most of all the atrocious call quality. To end on a positive note let me restate, THE AUDIO QUALITY FOR MUSIC IS EXCELLENT!so if you never intend on taking many calls with this set, and they end up being comfortable for you, then you’ll love these. Otherwise I’d say, pay less money and you may find some great truely wireless buds elsewhere.

EDIT 05/07/19: Sennheiser has officially released the new 1.26 firmware update yesterday. The update now includes a Turn Off button for the earbuds in the app (Settings) which fixes the battery draining issues!! I’ve tested it and it works perfectly. The update also contains bug fixes such as the transparent mode which now stays active when you get a call. 3 weeks later I still truly love with these buds.I’ve been using the buds for about a week now and I truly love them. These are my first true wireless earbuds and I’ve been studying what was on the market for months before making a decision because I wanted to be sure I invested in the right ones. And let me tell you, I certainly don’t regret my purchase. The sound is INCREDIBLE and as a musician it makes all the difference. I could have gone for much cheaper earbuds but the sound would never have been the same. When you put them on for the first time you realise how bad your previous ones were compared to them. And I had the Sennheiser Momentum Free so not the the worse but the cable around the neck was annoying me and I wanted to go full wireless. The EQ is really good and can help you to achieve the perfect sound you like.I was aware of the battery draining issue and was a bit worried about it but I didn’t think it was that bad. I’m using the buds from Monday to Friday on my commute to work (1 hour) and the battery lasts me for 3 days without charging the buds/case so I only need to charge it on Wednesday. You won’t feel the battery draining issue if you use them daily. If you don’t, I read that Sennheiser is going to implement a ON/OFF toggle in one of the next app releases and they have confirmed to me that although it’s not confirmed yet, they are looking into it.They also have confirmed to me that if you turn the bluetooth OFF, the ear buds will automatically switch off after 15 minutes so it can already help. The transparent mode is amazing. It was the first time I’ve experienced that and I still can’t believe how good and useful this function is. I basically never need to take the buds out until I don’t need them for the day anymore. When someone is taking to me, I just double tap on the right earbud and it automatically pauses the music and activates the microphone. In fact, it picks the sound so well around you I can hear my keys jingle in my trousers pocket when I walk!I love the touch controls too, it takes a bit of time to get used to but no more than a couple of uses. It’s pretty easy to remember and Sennheiser really have thought of the best way to implement them. You’ve got the option to turn the voice control off from the app which I did as I don’t use it much and I no longer activate it by accident. The connection is really good although I’ve experienced a few drop outs. There is that spot at a train station where I wait for my train every evening where it’s going to cut off a lot unless I move. I don’t know whether it’s caused by the crowds or other nearby devices but it’s only at that particular spot which is weird. They will also cut off for about 1 second every time I walk past the security gates at local Sainsbury’s. But it hasn’t bothered me much and does happen very rarely. I think Sennheiser might fix that in the future as this product is still quite new on the market. The design of the buds is also something else that Sennheiser really have nailed. They are SO comfortable and I never had the impression they would fall out at anytime. They don’t make you look like an insect from behind like the Bose SoundSport Free and the design has been thought and made to stay secure in your ear. You almost forget they are there and it’s so amazing to be completely free of cables. I read that some people felt a discomfort after an hour use, I have too around the ear lobe at some occasions but in that case I just move them up slightly and it instantly feels better and I can carry on with my use without a problem.I’m so happy with them I literally can’t wait to use them next. The price was also something that made me hesitate for a while and I initially thought of knocking 1 star down because of it but after using them properly for a week I just can’t. The quality makes it totally worth it.

First impressions were great. Sound on par with wired Sennheiser buds, which is a high standard. Great fit. A little large but fine. Connection is generally stable. As time went on, my view changed. One glaring issue is that if the case is low on battery, and you leave the buds to charge over night, eventually the case will lose power, the buds will wake, search for Bluetooth and drain power. Numerous times I have woken to dead buds and a dead case. A quick look on the forums suggests this this may not be a defective unit, but a design flaw. I have never received a Low Battery warning while using them. Also I have seen a number of reviews on these which say call quality is excellent. I can say I have tested these with 3 separate calls, and had to disconnect them each time as the person on the other end could not hear me. Returning to phone speaker was instantly fine. Tested on a Samsung S8 with Bluetooth 5.This really is disappointing, I associated Sennheiser with quality, especially at this price point, but I could not recommend these to anyone.

was really looking fwd to these premium ear buds – but what a letdown.. 279 quid i expect wow – im also a owner of the bose free – i actually prefer the bose.. the problem with bose is it sticks out the ear but having now tried these yes a better looking fit but noticed gaps between my ear and the bud therefore if you are doing exercise these are gonna come right out .. i played with a few buttons and again not the best .. i await a product i can go wow for earbuds that fit and sound perfect .. so dont waste your money unless these are a lot cheaper – Over the ear headphones still in another league

Incredible, slightly warm, sound, great comfort, and a perfect reliable connection.Only complaint is that for nearly £300, the nearly all-plastic design of the earphones and case coupled with their light weight make them feel somewhat cheap, but this is only very minor.

Love the sound quality and design of them, but where these fail is power management and how can you rate higher than 1* if they’re more flat than ready to go.Headphones discharge themselves in a week or less, just staying in the case, from fully charged to completely flat. How is that even possible? I have Powerbeats and Beats Studio 3 wireless. Both can stay in the case for months and wouldn’t lose a % of its charge were with these, I have to recharge every time I want to use them. That’s not acceptable. What their engineers were thinking of designing this product?! My guess is that this happens because there’s no way to turn them off completely, they’re in searching mode all the time, even if I hold the wobbly button on the case and “turn them off”, they’re still in “sleep mode” ready to be used whenever I put them in my ear. I’d prefer a dedicated on/off switch, where I can be sure I’ve switched it off and not put them into sleep mode, I don’t need a device which discharges on its own when I leave it for few days. This is very, very sad as otherwise, I love the product, sound quality is fantastic, and design is quite pleasing too. If you’re using them on daily bases, and are used to charge every device daily, then you’d probably be fine, but for those who use them less frequently, I can’t recommend them.I hope someone from Sennheiser sees this and addresses this issue in their updated product.
