Very Happy with £179, because I went to B&O local store to have a try on E8 But was shocked by the price, £269!!! Anyway, I wouldn’t say sound quality is amazing but it’s not bad, better than Airpods, you can hear a few instruments played and human voices separately, it’s not for those who weigh heavy bass more than other things, it’s for people who listen to various types of songs, like me, so you can enjoy to taste details of different sound. I bought this mainly because this is PINK! It shines brightly both in the case and on my ear, Looks elegant and design is simple but exquisite, I really love the pink version and leather surface of the case feels really smooth. No delay! Touch controls take some time to get used to cause it’s quite sensitive, an very light touch would do, no need to tap with force. Connection is very easy and never a problem, I wore it for two hours today in total, none of dropouts found. Downloaded New B&O App, please follow exactly what the app tells you to do, don’t do anything steps ahead because I’ve tried and the result is the App can’t find my E8. I have no idea about why others’ problems they have encountered are severe enough to return it. But I highly recommend E8 for its beautiful design and color, premium sound quality and convenience to use.

I’ve had the E8 for almost three months now using them as my daily commute in ears and – after a period of getting used to my first pair of wireless in ears – am glad that I’ve taken the leap. I do however see some improvements, some of which could be made in future software updates.Connection QualityBeing my first wireless pair and being even fully wireless I was surprised by how much a difference it makes to not have a cable dangling down my ears. I sill use my IE80 at home but solely use the E8 while on the go. Every now and then the connection has a little hiccup but I blame that on the shortcomings of the Bluetooth standard rather than B&O’s implementation there off. Since the update to the latest software which fixes an annoying bug which resulted in the left earpiece being quieter than the right after a connection drop, the connection is now as stable as I’d expect any good Bluetooth connection to be. Pairing with my iPhone SE and 8 is pretty much flawless.Fit & Touch ControlsOf course one doesn’t want their fancy in ears to drop into a sewer or the likes and I’ve never had any issues with them coming lose while on the move and would expect that to hold true for workouts too. An ear too size between medium and small would have been great for my left ear but overall fit is very good and comfortable. The touch control work pretty well and certainly seem like a better idea than haptic buttons pushing the earpieces into my ear with every push. They are pretty intuitive and do add a lot to the UX side of things. Sometimes it doesn’t register the second tap to skip a song and stops the music instead but that might just be me not hitting it properly while walking.SoundIf you’re anything like me you’ve spent your hard earned money on one of the most expensive in ears out there because you wanted wireless in ears AND good sound quality. Overall, I think the E8 achieve that but it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they are not as good sounding as a £200+ wired pair. They have a lot of detail to offer, mids are decent and the bass is quite well defined. However, both my IE80 from Sennheiser and P7 over ear from Bowers & Wilkins (both with bass that hits harder and smoother treble) sound noticeably better, even after getting used to the E8’s sound signature. The E8 can also have quite harsch treble at times. Thanks to the AAC codec on iOS I cannot complain about any (audible) degradation due to compression of the Bluetooth signal. I’d say you get a £150 pair of in ears and pay £100 to take off the wires and put a B&O logo on the outside. All this is with the equaliser switched off, mainly due to the reason that I simply don’t like the way it’s been implemented. It looks intuitive at first but the “Grid” implementation means you always have to change the sound on two dimensions at once meaning that I CAN reduce the treble a little but not without boosting the bass too much or loosing all bite to the mids. I wish there was a classic EQ with separate frequencies – something that could be added to the app with an update. The app by the way is easy enough to use for setup but you don’t really have to open it again after that.Battery LifeProbably my biggest concern when going wireless was running out of battery when trying to forget about a busy train around me. I’m actually pretty happy with battery life, only once have I found myself with the left earpiece out of hoovers while the right side still played. They do however seem to discharge over the course of 2 weeks when in the carrying case when they should actually be completely switched off. Not an issue usually though.

B&O know how to make beautiful products and for several decades their industrial design has been imoressive. In that sense this is a classic B&O product. But it’s also classic in the sense that although the hardware is amazing, the software ruins the overall experience. I did my upfront research, made sure to enable AAC codec on my mac and upgrade to the latest firmware on the Beoplay. But sadly they keep dropping out, I struggle to connect them to my phone and usually have to go in and do it manually and/or remove and add them again. Even though I much prefer the look of these to the Airpods, I’m returning them and going for Apple’s “it just works” product. Hopefully next gen will work like they’re supposed to. If so I’m definitely buying a pair!

Don’t usually leave reviews, but having spent weeks reading other people’s reviews before buying these headphones, I feel I have to contribute back.I have had these about a month now and am really pleased with them. Expensive but well worth it in my view. Really comfortable. Great charging case that is a practical size and looks and feels lovely. I have paired these with an iPhone 8 and an iPad Pro and have had none of the connectivity drop out some people have mentioned. The sound quality is incredible and the touch controls are pretty intuitive, if a tad sensitive.Sound leakage is almost zero. I have sat listening to music at high volume and my partner has not been able to hear a thing. Makes me feel far less self conscious watching movies on the train or listening to “uncool” tunes sat next to a total stranger.Considering how tiny and low key these ear buds are, it’s amazing that so much sound can emerge from them!

First of all the positives…..Fit is very good. I found the memory foam tips worked best for meCharging case is top quality leather looking. So much better than the plastic offered by almost everyone else. The buds fit very well and stay put.Earbuds themselves are a good size. Not too big or too small. Touch sensitivity is good for the functions.Sound quality is amazing. The range through treble, mid and bass is fantastic and the adjustments within the app are very good (when it worked). The negatives…Connectivity is shocking. I paired these through the app initially on my iPhone 11 Pro Max and Huawei Matepad Pro. Once paired (eventually) the set up was relatively easy. Then the issues began. To reconnect I was having to physically turn the buds on each time rather than just taking from the case. No huge deal but it should be a simple process. Then they just will not pair back with the app. It keeps saying either it can’t connect or they’re not paired. Fine I thought, I’ll leave the app and just use them via Bluetooth. Nope. Had to open Bluetooth settings each time and reconnect them. This is a major failing, especially from a brand of such high end products. My £30 Huawei wireless earphones pair without fault each time. My AirPods do the same. Faultless.Such a shame as I really wanted to love these. They have now been returned.

Good volume, quality feel and design.

  8. DAVM

Fantastic B&O build quality, excellent sound, classy look and finish, easily links to phone and B&O app. Highly recommend if you’re in the £250 market. Went for a 10K run in them this morning and they worked fine, no dropping and didn’t fall out and I forgot they were in my ears.

  9. Iain Thomson

Wouldn’t want to miss them on my commute
